What to do with the kids over October half term in Birmingham city centre

October half term is creeping up on us…along with Halloween and there’s plenty of spooky and non-spooky activities going on in Birmingham city centre so you and the kids have a ghoulishly good time.

You can enjoy a Halloween themed game of ping pong with all you can drink and eat packages at Serve and sing along with the cast of Milkshake Live at Town Hall.

Please note, some of these events may need to be booked in advance.

A Nightmare at CircusMASH at Bullring & Grand Central

Join Bullring & Grand Central for some spooktacular celebrations in CircusMASH style on October 29th-31st.

There will be an array of interactive circus workshops including juggling, plate spinning, hula hooping, diablos, poi and even a few trick or treats with the Witches and Werewolves.

Keep your eyes peeled around the centre for a stilt walking skeleton, rolling runaway mummy or their ghostly ballerina playing the accordion.

All the workshops will be running from 11am to 4pm, anyone is free to join!

Fancy dress is encouraged.

Fanta Twisted Carnival

Will you be brave enough to enter the Twisted Carnival?

Fizzy drink brand, Fanta is bringing their one-of-a kind immersive spooky attraction to Bullring and Grand Central from October 27-31.

The experience will be hosted by spooky characters showing visitors around its eerie exhibits and challenged to explore five interactive exhibition rooms full of frights and delights.

You can experience the frights and delights from 10am-8pm, Monday to Saturday and 11am-5pm on Sunday.

Serve Halloween Party

It’s a Halloween party with a difference. Get your ping pong skills up to scratch with ping pong bar, Serve. For Halloween, they are offering two packages, the ‘Black Widow’ where you can drink all you like with a game of ping pong for £20pp if you pre-pay or £25 on the day or you can opt for the ‘Covenant’ where you can eat, drink and have unlimited games of ping pong for £40pp. T&C’s do apply.

Milkshake Live – Town Hall

Get ready for an all singing, dancing, musical show as Milkshake Live takes you on a journey through the world’s favourite fairy tales.

Featuring all of Milkshake! favourites Bob the Builder, Little Princess, Noddy, Wissper, Fireman Sam, Pip from Pip Ahoy!, Winnie and Wilbur, Shimmer and Shine and Milkshake’s very own Milkshake Monkey.

This brand new live show is sure to amaze and delight! The Milkshake cast will be singing songs and sharing stories that audience members, young and old, will know and love.

War Horse – Birmingham Hippdrome

National Theatre’s acclaimed play War Horse has galloped back to Birmingham Hippodrome this autumn.

Follow Albert and his beloved horse Joey through an extraordinary journey from the fields of rural Devon to the trenches of First World War France.

Based on the novel by Michael Morpurgo, this powerfully moving and imaginative drama, filled with stirring music and songs, is a show of phenomenal inventiveness. At its heart are astonishing life-sized horses by South Africa’s Handspring Puppet Company, who bring breathing, galloping, charging horses thrillingly to life on stage.
