Take a trip to 1950s and 60s Birmingham at Reuben Colley Fine Art this February! ‘Nicklin Revisited’ is an exciting exhibition featuring original paintings inspired by the photographs of Phyllis Nicklin. Nine artists have selected images from Nicklin’s extraordinary archive of photos , taken between 1952 and 1969. Birmingham’s urban environment was being transformed during those years, and Nicklin captured aspects of the city which have been lost forever . An example is the old market hall, photographed by Nicklin in 1959 and reinterpreted here by Reuben Colley. The exhibition lasts until 27 February and is free to visit. Original paintings and signed limited editions are available to purchase.
