Highways England will be undertaking major refurbishment works on Birmingham’s A38 (M) and M6 Junction 6.
To support this work, both roads will be closed for 7 weekends from 13th July to 4th September (8pm Fridays to 6am Mondays)
This is including no access to the A38(M) via Gravelly Hill and Tyburn Road at anytime from 14th July – 4th September.
Don’t let that stop you, all retailers and shopping centres will be open throughout the roadworks. Plan your journey by visiting Traffic England and for further traffic updates and planned road closures, check out Highway England website.
Using public transport is advised to avoid delays. National Express West Midlands has introduced a discounted weekly ticket to encourage more people to travel by bus and reduce congestion. Valid for use on services 65, 66, 67, X3, X4 & X5 from Friday 7th July 2017 until the works are finished, the £12 weekly ticket can be purchased from the Travelshop on Corporation Street, Birmingham.
Traffic from North of Birmingham is expected to divert via Lichfield Road, Aston and Nechells Parkway. When road closures are in place, follow diversion routes and look out for local signs.
