BBC Asian Network presenter and fashion designer Noreen Khan visited the city centre for a day of pampering and treatments in the run up to the Eid celebrations – here’s what she got up to……….
When asked about this year’s Eid celebration, Noreen said: “Shopping for Eid is a must as we always tend to wear new clothes on the day. But the whole build up to Eid and shopping beforehand is the exciting part, as you shop around for the right outfit, footwear and treat yourself to some nice new beauty products too.
“I love to shop in Birmingham, as I can go for hours and hours in Bullring – it seems to have so much to look at. Then you can venture out to House of Fraser and pop over to the Mailbox for Harvey Nichols, followed by pampering and a good haircut and blowdry at Toni and Guy or Nicky Clarke.
“I’ll be celebrating Eid in Glasgow this year, as I’ll be there for Commonwealth Games! It’ll be a first for me to be there for Eid so I’m looking forward to seeing how the Glaswegians like to celebrate. Then as always I’ll go to visit my family as Eid for me is all about being around your family and eating lots of good food.”
