Couture bridal designer, Hermione de Paula, is making her collection of nature-inspired wedding dresses permanently available to UK brides outside of London for the first time, with a new Signature Collection of made-to-order gowns available in Birmingham from this month.
Hermione de Paula – who VOGUE USA credited for establishing sentimental personalisation which has influenced bridal couture globally – has formed an exclusive partnership with luxury bridal boutique, Feathers, in Birmingham city centre.
The move aims to make her hand-embroidered, customisable gowns more accessible to UK-wide women – both in price-point and location.
Creating dresses sustainably is at the heart of Hermione’s design philosophy. The new Signature Collection is designed for women looking for heirloom art in their wedding dress but who are unable to travel to be involved in the fully bespoke service at Hermione’s London studio, or are working to a tighter timeframe.
Timeless silhouettes are combined with Hermione’s favourite embroideries to create a collection of limited-edition works from her romantic archive. Each gown and veil is individually crafted and hand made to order by the same processes and team who create her bespoke pieces, but pre-tailored for brides who cannot commit to the fully immersive bespoke journey.
The made-to-order collection available at Feathers features her signature wisteria, fern and rose, miniature rose, tropic utopia and wild rose garden embroidered designs, and is available in a range of colour options.
Brides can also artfully weave in personal details such as a beloved pet portrait, first dance lyric, wedding date or couples’ initials into the dress or veil.
Holly Johnson, owner of Feathers in Birmingham, said: “I know so many women that really lust after a Hermione de Paula gown, so it’s fantastic to be able to bring the Signature Collection to Birmingham to make them more accessible to UK-wide brides – both in terms of location and price-point.
“The gowns truly are works of art. The level of detail in the embroidery and the opportunity to personalise them to encapsulate messages unique to the couple, and even add a splash of colour, is something special. We can’t wait to welcome our brides to the beautiful world of Hermione de Paula.”
Hermione de Paula, said: “I wanted to grow a collection which would give us the opportunity to create wearable pieces of heirloom art for all our brides regardless of where they live or if they are unable to be fully involved in the bespoke process.
“We are really like architects in the studio, we design every dress to adapt to our bride’s wedding day and her design desires. With this collection we are still able to make her personalised dream dress, but on a more streamlined process.”
The new Hermione de Paula Signature Collection gowns range between £2,800 – £3,900 ex VAT and can be handcrafted within 10 weeks.
