Great Western Arcade is welcoming three new restaurants this summer as it continues to build a growing portfolio of independent restaurants, bars and retail stores, plus its newly introduced outdoor seating areas.
The Vegan Kitchen, the first fully vegan street food restaurant in Birmingham, is opening in Great Western Arcade next month. Headed up by Dan Carter, the new restaurant will be serving fresh home cooked vegan food that is all gluten and soya free too.
Home to the ‘funguy’ burger, the restaurant will also offer vegan craft beer, wines and cocktails in a cool setting with funky vibes and beats.
Well-known for its Mexican street food, Habaneros is making a change from its food van to its very first restaurant in Great Western Arcade. Offering the same ethical, fresh, quality food, Habaneros will be opening this summer. Land is also set to reopen in a new location in the Arcade this summer. Renowned for its modern, plant-focused, casual dining, the new restaurant will have a focus on sustainability with a menu offering a choice of four to six courses in a bid to reduce food waste.
Shaun Mountain, centre manager at Great Western Arcade, said: “Despite all of the challenges experienced over the last 18 months, especially within the retail and hospitality sector, we have experienced a number of success stories, so we are delighted to announce the opening of another three independents; The Vegan Kitchen, Habaneros plus the relocation and reimagining of Land. The restaurants are fantastic additions to Great Western Arcade and further build on the independent F&B scene, which is already flourishing in the Arcade and the wider city centre.
“With Loki Wine, The Whisky Shop and The Pineapple Club, the Arcade not only has the majority of the specialist wine, whisky, spirit, craft beer and cocktail venues in the city, but it’s also home to a wide-range of cuisines; from Japanese at Sushi Passion to Hawaiian at Kuula Poke. We’ve also got the best sandwiches in the city thanks to Anderson & Hill and one of our latest arrivals, GupShup, as well as oats and coffee specialists, Morridge. The Arcade really is a hub of brilliant independent eateries and retail stores.”
