As we transition into autumn/winter, beauty trends are changing and this is the perfect excuse to spruce up your make up routine.
This season, it’s all about making a statement with your look. On the runways, there was colour blocking eyes, powerful red lips, heavy glitter makeup and super glowy skin.
We’ve hand-picked some of the most wearable trends that you can easily corporate into your everyday look and how you can achieve them.
Matte smoky brown tones were heavily present on the runways for this season. This look is effortlessly cool and very easy to incorporate into your everyday make up routine. You can simply use your bronzer to sweep across the lids and viola, you’re bang on trend!
We recommend: Chanel Ombre Premiere Longwear Cream Shadow in Terre Brulee (£26) Find the Chanel counter in store at John Lewis.
Just because the temperatures are dropping and the evenings are getting darker that make-up can’t be bright and colourful. Bold hues such as bright pink, yellow and green were seen a lot on the catwalks and this was sported as a graphic eyeliner look. If you’re not good with eyeliner, you can sport a bright shadow across the lid and you’re good to go.
We recommend: NYX Professional Make Up Vivid Brights Eyeliners (£6.50) to re-create this look. They come in 9 bold shades. Find the NYX Professional Make Up boutique store in Bullring.
Bold red lips
The power lip is staying put this season. The catwalks are switching out the orange toned reds from the summer for more scarlet and dark rouge hues to suit the earthy tones of this season’s fashion trends. A red lip is the perfect way to perk up your complexion in the colder months.
We recommend: No.7 Match Made Moisture Drench Lipstick in Pillarbox (£10) to re-create this look. Shop this at No.7 in Boots High Street.
Natural healthy glow
Glowy skin is always in. This season it’s all about the prep. For a natural healthy complexion, take your time layering your skin care products, starting with serum, moisturiser, primer and finishing off with a strobe cream. If you need some coverage, dab some concealer to the areas that are prone to redness.
We recommend: Fenty Beauty Match Stix Shimmer Skinstick to achieve this look (£21). Find the Fenty Beauty counter exclusively at Harvey Nichols.
The bigger the better in the case of eyebrows. On the catwalks, many designers were inspired this season to embrace natural beauty by creating fresh looking skin and boyish brows. Forget about sharp precise brows this A/W18, it’s time to brush them up and go au natural. If you’re not blessed in the brow department, there are plenty of products on the market to give you fuller, thicker looking brows in seconds.
We recommend: Benefit Gimme Brow+ Volumizing Eyebrow Gel to achieve the perfect brushed up brow look. This will instantly add fullness and definition to lack-lustre brows. Pick this up at the Benefit counter in Debenhams for £20.50.
