Lions to be Dressed by Thomas Pink
The British & Irish Lions, in partnership with Thomas Pink, the official outfitters for the forthcoming Tour to Australia in 2013, are aiming to be the best dressed sports team in the world!
The Lions team – the cream of rugby players from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales who come together for Tours to the southern hemisphere – will take on Australia’s Wallabies in June 2013 in three landmark Test matches. Ahead of travelling to Australia via Hong Kong, Thomas Pink tailors will have carried out over 100 bespoke fittings to ensure that Britain and Ireland’s rugby elite are dressed for success on what is the 125th anniversary Lions’ Tour.
The British & Irish Lions wardrobe for 2013 features an official Tour blazer and evening jacket – “ No. 1s and No.2s ” in Lions’ speak – as well as casuals for downtime between matches, training, travel and official functions. Cufflinks engraved with lions boasting ruby red jeweled eyes especially deserve mention, while elsewhere unique detail defines product: crested buttons, rugby heritage silk lining and tie are all of note.
A 125th Anniversary commemorative Merino wool/silk scarf promises to be a collector’s must-have piece. The collaboration celebrates the heritage and tradition of both The Lions and Thomas Pink, and in particular, the 125th anniversary of The Lions’ inaugural Tour.
The collection is now available in the Thomas Pink store at The Mailbox.
