Verve Poetry Festival, Birmingham’s Festival of Poetry and Spoken Word, is taking over Waterstones again for a riotous celebration of the best modern poets on 15th-18th February 2018.

Diverse, lively and fun, the festival is back and bigger than ever.

This year, Verve Poetry Festival are hosting some of contemporary poetry’s biggest names – Salena Godden, Imtiaz Dharker, Luke Wright, Pascale Petit – whilst staying firmly grounded in our Brummie roots. They have got award-winning Birmingham poets Liz Berry, University of Birmingham lecturer Luke Kennard, celebrated performer Bohdan Piasecki, Roy McFarlane and Jenna Clake.

The line-up features a heady mix of page poetry and spoken word, workshops and children’s events, established and emerging writers. With 50+ poets over 30 events in a packed weekend, Verve is passionate about making poetry approachable for everyone.

So come and experience them quash the laws of space and time whilst taking a wrecking ball to all you thought poetry could, would and should be next February.
