First poetry festival in Birmingham, Verve comes to Waterstones Waterstones, 24-26 High Street
16.02.2017 - 19.02.2017

The city’s first poetry and spoken word festival comes to Birmingham this week.

Capturing and celebrating the spirit of Birmingham, Verve festival will be held at Birmingham’s biggest bookshop, Waterstones.

The festival will span over 4 days from Thursday 16th to Sunday 19th February and will include writing workshops, spoken word masterclasses, poetry slams and lively children’s poetry and storytelling events.

It won’t be your typical literary festival. With a fantastic line-up of upcoming poets, internationally acclaimed talent and undiscovered local talent, expect to be entertained as they bring the theatre to you.

There will be plenty of opportunities for you and the children to get involved, with all of the children’s events free to attend. There is a Little Tyke Open Mic event encouraging 6-16-year-olds to try their hand at performing poetry. You can book tickets to any workshops here.

Verve is a festival for everyone. Whether you’ve been writing for years, or just starting out or you’re simply just a book nerd. Come along for the fun!

Tickets are very affordable, with individual events priced at £4/£6, festival passes at £25/35 (sold out) and some workshops at £10/£15.

There are tickets still available for Sunday.

Retail Birmingham is proud to sponsor this event.
