An evening with Midlands sports broadcaster, Tom Ross
Waterstones, Pavillions, 24-26 High St, Birmingham
Waterstones are to host a very special evening with sports broadcasting legend Tom Ross, on Wednesday 24th August, talking about his new book, ‘The Games Gone’.
Tom has been the voice of Midlands sport for 35 years on BRMB, Xtra AM, Capital Gold, Free Radio 80s and Talksport.
Born and raised in the inner city slums of Birmingham – he is a one-off and football fans throughout the region have grown-up listening to Tom. His radio phone-ins have created much debate with supporters across all of the Midlands local teams, all with much-needed humour alongside Tom’s incredible football insight.
A hugely respected and entertaining radio personality, with an enviable command of the true art of commentary, Tom’s contacts in the game go far and wide. A family man with a great heart through his charitable work, for Tom – as he always says – it’s about the passion in everything you do.
His story is a fascinating one and not to be missed and was written partly to show young Brummies that even if you don’t go to university you can be successful with hard work, desire, enthusiasm and passion.
The event is free to attend but you’ll need to book your seat by calling Waterstones on 0121 633 4353 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org, on Twitter @waterstonesbham or by visiting the store on High Street, Birmingham.
